Reminder: Medicare Penalty For Not Using eRX Now!
Avoid a 1% reduction in your Medicare payments
Starting in 2012 Medicare will deduct 1% from provider payments if the provider has not sent at least 10 (ten) prescriptions electronically during the first half of 2011. There is a 1.5% penalty in 2013 and a 2% penalty in 2014 and beyond.
Use of a Certified Electronics Health Records program does not count unless the 10 (ten) prescriptions requirement has been met.
To avoid this penalty at least 10 (ten) claims must be sent with G8553 added to the other charge(s).
