ANSI 5010 is coming!

Many have called or faxed about the upcoming 5010 revisions. Here is what you need to know:
- 5010 is an upgrade to the current 4010 ANSI set created several years ago.
- It impacts on Electronic Claims, Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and Eligibility Checking.
- It uses the ICD9 or the upcoming ICD10 codes.
- Most of the changes will be transparent - they involve programming changes.
Many clearing houses and insurance plans are ready to test the 5010 claims files. Many more are not ready for testing.
The deadline for implementation (when you must start using it) is January 1, 2012.
Our programming staff has reviewed the needed work and will have an upgrade ready well before the end of the year.
