Patient Outreach
Between healthcare encounters, the system can notify the patient of preventive services, tests, or other actions that are due or overdue. These can be either reminder letters or emails. After the letters are printed, the system will record the fact. A list of the patients to be notified can also be printed, so the patients may be contacted by telephone.
The reminders are govened by the same kinds of rules that control alerts. Thus you can specify reminders based on immunizations, lab results, age, sex, problems, and previous treatments. Also, you can specify that certain patients are not to receive a particular reminder that may be inappropriate for them.
Reminder letters can be customized for your practice and for their particular purpose; so each type of letter can have a different text or even a different heading, and the contents can be changed at any time. No programming is necessary.
