Disease Management
VersaForm provides several tools that assist the medical practice in disease management. These enable the physician to have the computer alert him when he sees a patient with a particular condition, and to present a recommendation or reminder of the appropriate measures to be taken. These are under the complete control of the physician.
It is important to know that VersaForm does not have or supply any medical knowledge. The example disease management protocols that are contained in the program are simply restatements of the PQRI measures as specified by CMS.
Other tools enable the office to set up reminder letters to notify patients when visits are due, and to set up reports that extract the information that bears on the patient's conditions from the data that is already in the billing system or EHR. These reports are also useful in managing the entire patient population of the practice—they assist the practice in tracking the various measures of quality of care as they apply to the patient population.
