The Completed Note
When the template is activated, it walks the user through the variables, step by step, to create the completed note. And, as described, the physician can quickly fill in the variable information by selecting from the drop-down lists and pop-up windows. In the example below, all "normals" are entered automatically, using the pre-programmed "default" answers and require no action by the user.
The Menopause template is now a completed note.
The completed note is stored in the patient's electronic chart, and can be printed and filed traditionally.
You can also create your own templates.
