Back-up VersaForm The Back-up utility that shipped with the orginal versions of MD VersaForm has been disabled. From Version 7.10 onward it does not work from the menu. We recommend using: The DOS Back-up program The Windows 3x Back-up program The Windows 95/98 Back-up program A minimal back-up for VersaForm consists of backing up the files that end in "VFM". This will require the fewest number of disks or tape space and will take the least amount of time. We recommend you back-up the VersaForm directory and all of its sub-directories. Standard safety precautions suggest that the back-up be completed once a day. It is a good idea to take the back-up medium (disks, tape, etc.) from one day a week and store it off site. When it comes to vital data, like that created by VersaForm, you cannot back-up too often. It is a good idea to test your back-up from time to time. Generally if you request the software to do a restore you will be able to see the files that were backed-up. Check the date of "ledger.vfm". It should be the same as the date of the back-up. The VersaForm Support Policy does not cover hardware, operating systems, or software not produced by VersaForm Systems Corporation. We hope the information supplied will provide a solution to your non-VersaForm issue. If you do not understand the above or if it does not solve the problem you are experiencing, please contact a technical person in your area or the vendor of the hardware or software you are using. |
