Champus Claims Relationship Problems

Problem: When submitting claims via NDC for Champus an error is message is returned the code is nor correct or the code should be two digits.

Cause: The printformat for this process needs to be modified.

Solution: Modify line #112 of the "Electronic--ets_00" printformat.

Keystrokes: From the MD VersaForm Main Menu:

Select item #4 "Setting-up MD VersaForm and press <Enter>

From the Installation Menu select item #11 "Customize PrintFormats" press <Enter>

On this menu take item #2 "Insurance Claims and Superbills", press <Enter>

At the "?" press <Enter>

Type the number or highlight the item "Electronic—ets_00" and press <Enter>

You are now at the Print Format Menu, select item #2 "Enter or Change the Print Format" and press <Enter>

Press <PageDown> until you locate line #112. The fields should read:

"R" = 6

"D" is blank

"Pos." = 968

"Sz" = 2

"Print_Item" = '0' & ch_reln

Press <F2> to save the changes.

Press <Esc> three (3) times to return to the Main Menu.

Notes: The Ch_Reln is set on page 3 of the Ledger in the Champus area. It will be transferred to the claim when the claim is created. These changes make the field two characters wide and puts a "0" as the first character.
