Error Saving Claim

Problem: When attempting to create a claim the system says there is an error creating the claim or saving the claim.

Cause: The number in the "Last_claim_ref" field in the Ledger is lower than the last two digits of the "Key" field in the Claims file.

Solution: Change the number in the "Last_Claim_ref" field of the Ledger to be the same as the last two digits of the "Key" field of the last claim in the Claim file.

Keystrokes: From the Patient Ledger:

Press <Ctrl + Home> twice to go to the upper left corner. Note the name of the patient.

Press <Ctrl + PageDown> twice to go to page 5. Note the number in the "Last_claim_ref" field.

Press <Alt + F10>.

Highlight "Insurance Claim File" (second from top), press <Enter>.

Enter the name of the patient in the "Lname" field and press <F6>.

Press <F6> until you come to the last claim for this patient. Note the last two digits in the "Key" field.

If the two digits are real numbers (00-09):

Press <Alt+X>.

The "Patient Ledger File" (top of list) is highlighted - press <Enter>.

Replace the information in the "Last_claim_ref" field with the last two digits from the "Key" field in the "Insurance Claim File".

If the two digits are a number and a letter that are sequentially higher than the "number" in the "Last_Claim_Ref" field of the "Ledger" then:

Press <Alt+R> followed by "Y" and <Enter> to remove the claim.

Press <F9> followed by "Y" and <Enter> to clear the form.

Press <Alt+X>.

The "Patient Ledger File" (top of list) is highlighted - press <Enter>.

Re-create the claim.

Notes: The numbering for claims follows this pattern:

00 - 09

0A - 0V

10 - 1V

etc.

This allows us over 1000 numbers while using two digits.
