Install Failed - Data Lost

The first thing VersaForm upgrade-install programs does is create a ".zip" file of all files (and sub-directory files) in the selected directory. Should the install fail use "pkunzip.exe" to replace the program and its files as they were before the install began.

Try the following key strokes:

Exit VersaForm and get to a DOS prompt.

If you are not at the "root" directory for this drive enter "CD.." until you get to the root.

Rename the directory where the VF files now reside to "VFTemp". For example - "rename c:\vf c:\vftemp" and press <Enter>.

Create a new directory named for the previous VF directory. For example - "MD VF" and press <Enter>

Go to the new directory - Example - type "CD VF" and press <Enter>

Copy the .zip file from the "vftemp" directory to this directory - "copy c:\vftemp\mdv6-7.zip" and press <Enter>

Copy "pkunzip" from the temp directory to this directory - "copy c:\vftemp\pkunzip.exe" and press <Enter>.

Unzip the files - "pkunzip -d mdv6-7.zip" and press <Enter>. The orginal files and sub-directories will be placed back into the current directory.

You are now ready to resume work or to re-try the upgrade procedures.
