Key Field

A field that is used to make a record unique. The information in a key field cannot be repeated in any other key field. For example in the Insurance Plan file the Key Field is "INS". Two fields can be combined to make a key field. For example in Ledger "Lname" and "Acct#" are combined to make the key field.
