Modify the Appointment Reminder Letter Problem: Customer wants to modify the text or style of the letter sent to patients to remind them of their appointments. Cause: Customer preference Solution: Using a text editor (such as DOS Edit or VFEdit) open the file "recall.txt" in the VF directory. Make changes as needed and save the file. Keystrokes: From VersaForm: Press ALT+U, Select "Shell to DOS" and press <Enter> At the DOS prompt type "edit recall.txt" and press <Enter> Modify the text and position of text as needed. Be careful to not remove any line with a "~" mark. These items refer to data fields in the program. You can add new codes. For example adding "~Vlongdate" will insert the system date (Month, day, year format) at that point in the letter. When finished press "ALT+F" to open the file menu. Select "X" to exit the editor. When prompted to save the file press "Y" and then the <Enter> key. Type "exit" to return to VersaForm Notes: The same process can modify other form letters like this.
