Multi-Doc Install or Upgrade When upgrading from Mult-Doc Version 6.x to Version 7.x be sure you have the Multi-Doc 7.0 disk. Or get a copy of "Multidoc.utl" into the program directory. If the initial menu does not provide for "Create or Modifiy Practices" and you have verified that "Multidoc.utl" is in the program directory follow these steps: NOTE: You must be logged in as "manager" to perform this function. From the MD VersaForm Main Menu select #6 VersaForm XL Main Menu, press <Enter> From this menu select #2 "Filing" and press <Enter> Accept the default path or type in the correct path and press <Enter> Type in "Multidoc.utl" and press <Enter> Fill in the practice information, put a "Y" in "Recreate_All" filed and then save the record. Copy all the ".vfm" files and "appmenu.vfs" from the "\vf" directory to each of the sub-directories. See the instructions for the Multi-Doc module. Exit and re-start VersaForm. NOTE: When upgrading from Version 6.0x to 7.0x you must do the upgrade from 6.0x to 7.0x first and then install the Multi-Doc module. Installing on a Novell Network: - The script and .bat files that are used to install a VersaForm module into a Multi-Doc system uses a '\nul' paramater. "Nul" is a reserved word in Novell. You will get a message about not being able to locate a directory. To solve the problem open the 'do upgrade' procedure in the "Script.xxx" file. Locate the line that says "textinput (global1 & '\NUL'); { check for existence of subdir }". Put the "{" in front of the "textinput" or change '\NUL' to '\msglog.vfm'. Recomplie and the install should proceed without hitch. It may be necessary to modify some batch files to also remove any occurance of the word "NUL". These batch files will generally be related to the module you are installing.
