Printer Codes - Changing

We often want to change the printer output to show condensed print or to have the report come out landscape. Use the following codes:

HP LaserJet

Generally these codes go in the Print Control Sequences part of the Report Definition process. Follow these key strokes to get there:

Locate the report to be changed.

From the "Report Menu" choose item #1 - "Set Up the Report"

From the initial screen press <Ctrl+PageDown>.

Put the print control sequences in the "Body-on" field and press <F1>.

To reset the printer at the end of the report be sure to put the reset sequence in the "Trailer off" field and on page 2 say "Y" to print a trailer page.

Press <F2> to save your work.

It is a good idea to print a test report to be sure the changes have taken place.

Another option is to make the desired print style the "default" printer control. Follow these steps:

From the MD VersaForm Main Menu select #4 "Setting UP MD VersaForm" and press <Enter>

Select item #7 "System Defaults and Function Keys" then press <Enter>

Put the desired codes in the "Default_ptr_ctl" field then press <F2>

Exit from VersaForm and re-enter to have these codes take effect.
