Printers and VersaForm

VersaForm sends printer jobs to the LPT port selected by the user. The default is LPT1 (called "Standard Printer" in the Utility Menu). If the printer is off line or out of paper a message will be displayed to the operator. Once the job passes the LPT port VersaForm has no more control or influence over it. It is not necessarily to configure the program for any specific printer.

To choose a different LPT port from anywhere in VersaForm follow these steps:

Press <Alt+U>

Select the first item "Printer Functions"

Select the printer port you want use

Press <Enter>

All print jobs will go to the selected LPT port until a change is made or VersaForm is restarted.

We know the following printers work for VersaForm and other DOS based programs:

All Dot Matrix Printers

HP DeskJets up to 6xx

HP LaserJets up to 4xx

HP LaserJets up to 5L if you can find the DOS drivers

Epson Inkjets up to 4xx

Some of the new Windows based printers do not print DOS based programs. Check with the manufacturer before installing these printers. The manufacturer may have some DOS drivers available that will allow the printer to print DOS based programs like VersaForm.
