Printing Response Files

When using PCAnywhere for DOS version 5.0 or PCAnywhere for Windows 9x response files downloaded from an electronic processor will not be in the VersaForm directory. They will be in the AW directory. Follow these steps to view and/or print your response file and remove the file when you no longer need to store it on your hard drive.

From anywhere in VersaForm press <Alt+U> to see the Utility Menu

Highlight "Shell to DOS" and press <Enter>

If you use PCAnywehre for DOS type <cd \aw> and press <Enter>. You should see "x:\aw>" where "x" is the letter for your hard drive. If you use PCAnywhere for Window 9x type <CD \progra~1\pcanyw~1\download> and press <Enter>. You should see "x:\program files\pcanywhere\download" where "x" if your hard drive. This is where your response files were stored when you downloaded them.

To see a list of the files type <cd rsp* /od> and press <Enter>. This will give you a list of the files with the newest file at the bottom of the list.

NOTE: If the list takes up more than one screen type <cd rsp* /od /p> and press <Enter>. This will show the first 20 to 24 files with a prompt to press <Enter> to see the next screen full of files.

To view the file type <edit name of file > and press <Enter>. For example if the file list showed "RSP00093 RSP" you type <edit rsp00093.rsp> and press <Enter>.

You will then see a blue screen with white writting. This will be your response file. To see more of the file press the <PageDown> key.

To print the file press <Alt+F>, type <P> or highlight <Print> and press <Enter>. Press the <Enter> key to print the complete document.

To close the file and return to the DOS prompt press <Alt+F> and then <X> for Exit.

To remove the file from the hard drive type <del name of file> followed by the <Enter> key. For example to remove the file called "rsp00093 rsp" type <del rsp00093.rsp> and then <Enter>.

NOTE: Users are responsible for removing unneeded response files. VersaForm does not address this issue.

To return to VersaForm type <Exit> and then <Enter>.
