Removing Locks Problem: When trying to run reports or access records the user is denied access because some other user has a lock on the record or file but the other user is not logged on. Cause: Someone did not exit the file properly or left the system without closing all files. Solution: Remove the locks Keystrokes: Log into VersaForm as the Manager. From the MD VersaForm Main Menu : First you must open the file that has the lock. From the Ledger press <ALT-F10>. Now highlight the file that has the lock and press <Enter> Once in the right file press <Esc> to bring up the XL Drop Down Menu
Press "U" for "Utilities" - you will see the following menu:
Select "L" for "Locks" - to get this menu:
Select "U" for "Unlock locks". You will see the following dialog:
"A" is the selection we want so press <Enter>. Next is:
Type "ALL" and then press <Enter>. Your file is now cleared of all locks. Notes: References: Related Topics:
