Reports are not showing duplicate data

Problem: When printing reports duplicate items are not showing on the report but the totals appear correct.

Cause: When the report was designed a "Y" was put in the "S" column of the column set-up. The "S" tells the system to not print the item if the data is the same as the line above it. Another possibility is that the "Suppress Dittos" field on page two of the "System Setup" record has a "Y" in it.

Solution: Remove the "Y" from the "S" column in the report definition screen for the appropriate field in the report definition screen. Check the System Setup record page two and remove any characters from the "Suppress Dittos" field.

Notes: This feature is provided to make the reports look cleaner. Instead of having each line show repetitive identical entries, this features shows the data once and does not show it again until the line has a different entry.

Example: Two payments of the same amount were received for Mary Baker on 9/23/97. Three payments were received for Donald Byers – two for the same amount.

Note that the numbers showing do not total 233.00. The missing numbers would bring the total to 223.00. Here is the corrected report definition:
