Setting Up a New Practice (a shortcut)

After setting up the new practice sub-directory the process requires the customer to copy all of the .vfm files from the program directory to the new sub-directory. If the practice is using electronic claims the .nsf files will also need to be copied.

From the DOS prompt type

"copy c:\XX\*.vfm c:\XX\YY"

Where "XX" is the name of your basic VF directory (generally "VF") and "YY" is the name of the new doctor's sub-directory.

Follow the same steps above to copy the .nsf files, where the directions call for ".vfm" type ".nsf". OR type "upnsf" at the DOS prompt and all the appropiate *.NSF files will be copied to each sub-directory.

Once this is done some files can be copied from an active practice to the new practice to save set-up time. These files include "insplan.vfm", "diag.vfm", "fac.vfm" and "proc.vfm".

Change to a directory of an active practice and copy the files to the new directory.

From the DOS prompt for the existing practice type

"copy ZZZZ.vfm c:\XX\newdoc"

Where "ZZZZ" is the name of the file you want to copy (such as "diag.vfm") "XX" is the name of your basic VF directory (generally "VF") and "newdoc" is the name of the new doctor's sub-directory
