Windows 95/98 Back-up NOTE: If the Back-up program is not installed on your system it will need to be installed from the set-up disks or CD. Windows 95 ships with a back-up program that will interface with most tape drives and all floppy dirves. To access the program follow these steps: Click on the "start" button Click on "Programs" Click on "Accessories" Click on "System Tools" Click on "Back-up" You will see a dialog box like this:
The left window shows the file structure (folders). Locate the folder you want to backup. Click on the "+" in the box to the left of a drive or folder to see the folders within that item. Click on a "-" in the same box to hide what is in that item. When you locate the folder that has your VersaForm data click on the folder with the left mouse button. In the right side window you will see a listing of the files and folders contained in this folder. If you click in the large box to the left of the folder you will see a checkmark appear. A check mark by a folder also adds a checkmark to each file in the folder. A check mark indicates that that file is selected for back-up. You can select files in a folder indiviually if preferred. In the following picture the VersaForm directory and the Procs sub-directory have been selected as well as all the files in these folders.
The next thing to do is click on "Next Step". Click on the item you are going to use for the back-up. In the following sample the "Floppy Drive A" was checked and it will be the device to receive or store the back-up files.
The final step is to click on "Start Backup". A Hint: the first time you select the files click on "Files" and then "Save". In the "Save As" dialog box field called "File name:" put something that will identify this as your VersaForm back-up.
The next time you start the back-up you can click on "Files" and then "Open" and select this backup set. Your selected files will be re-selected. This will save some time in the process.
